Costco Looks to Enter Dallas Market with a $23 Million Store

Costco has filed a building permit for a Dallas, Texas, store that would be its first in the city's retail market.

Already currently in eight different markets of the Lone Star State, this particular location is one the retailer spent years searching for, according to the Dallas Morning News. Once built, it will stand at 146,000-square-feet covering a 13 acre lot, serving as a warehouse-style retail building.

The project would be about $22.6 million, and as it would create an estimated 225 jobs, the retailer is seeking a $3 million economic development grant from the Dallas City Council.

Costco currently has locations in:

  • Duncanville
  • Fort Worth
  • Arlington
  • Southlake
  • Lewisville
  • West and East Plano
  • Frisco
  • Rockwall

This could be the beginning of Costco growing its existing presence in Texas, entering this particular hub after what looks to have been careful consideration. Keep checking in with DeliMarket News as we report on Texas and other retail markets continuing to heat up.
