Even more expansion is in the cards for Fresh Thyme Farmers Market following its whirlwind 2016. After opening 20 new stores and hiring 2,000 new employees during the past calendar year, the retailer is now committing to reach a total of 70 locations before the end of 2017.
“Seeing a significant change in the ever-evolving food retail industry this past year, Fresh Thyme is proud of the service we provide our customers and we look forward to continuously improving their shopping experience for years to come,” said Fresh Thyme’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Sherrell, in a statement.
The specialty retailer is planning 22 new stores in total, by the end of next year, according to a report by the Hamilton Journal News. While the locations of the stores have not yet been revealed, the grocer currently occupies the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
And store count isn’t the only development Fresh Thyme has been working on this year. In addition to launching its own 800 product private label line in February, the company has also developed a mobile app called “My Thyme.” The app is essentially designed to wholly improve the customer shopping experience, providing unique offerings like rewards, a digital shopping list, app-accessible receipts, and personalized coupons.
