As the industry responds to consumer demand for accessibility and ease of groceries, it looks like online shopping services are here to stay. Kroger has announced that more stores in Texas and Ohio will now offer the company’s online and curbside service, ClickList.
"We're confident about investing in the service. The customer has been telling us they are very interested," said Kelly Carroll, Head of ClickList in North Texas, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Kroger has marked 18 different stores in Texas for renovations, expected to be completed some time this fall. The company announced earlier this year that the service would expand in the Dallas and Houston areas, but waited to announce the new list until it found locations which could provide for ClickList’s needs.
Renovations to the store will include added parking signs, knocking out walls for ClickList doors, and installing refrigeration and freezer units for perishable groceries.

ABC6 cited Kroger as planning to move its way even deeper into Ohio with ClickList, eventually reaching through Westerville, Hilliard, Worthington, Lewis Center, and more of Columbus.
Kroger expects its ClickList renovations and expansions to provide around 20 new jobs to staff the service. The company did not state how much would be spent on the project. As Kroger builds brand new stores, the ClickList service will be integrated into each of those locations.
Currently, Kroger has 21 stores with curbside offerings. The Dallas Morning News stated that Kroger is currently looking to expand into the Louisiana market as well.
