Kroger Looks to Hire 740 in Home State of Ohio

Tuesday, April 12th, 2016

Kroger has made strong move towards the company’s continued growth, this time holding a job fair to hire 740 new employees for all of its area Cincinnati and Dayton stores.

This latest spree of employment growth, pairs nicely with the company’s other recent announcement for renovations and expansions in Michigan. Kroger has pledged to invest $180 million in three new stores, and over 1000 new jobs in the Michigan Market.

According to a report from cincinnati.com, the Ohio specific jobs will expand across multiple departments. In addition to general merchandise, online shopping, and apparel, the department expansions include:

  • Deli and bakery
  • Produce
  • Floral
  • Nutrition
  • Line cooks
  • Meat and seafood
  • Starbucks

Kroger’s rapid growth planned for 2016, comes at the behest of the company’s new executive staff. New Vice President of Retail Operations, Mary Ellen Adcock, was promoted from Columbus Operations VP last month. Kenny Kimball, will assume his future role as President for the Smith’s division, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 30.

Earlier this month, Kroger also announced a partnership with Lucky’s Market that will bring 17 stores to 13 states, laying a solid baseline for the company’s plans of growth throughout the year.
