More executive changes for Kroger have been announced, with Mary Ellen Adcock taking over the role of Group Vice President of Retail Operations. Effective May 16, Adcock will be taking the place of Marnette Perry, whose retirement was announced in an earlier statement.
Most recently as the Columbus Division VP of Operations, Adcock was one of the main campaigners for the region’s stores slashing pricing for thousands of items including meats, fresh produce, and natural and organic foods.
Rodney McMullen, Kroger's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, touts that Mary Ellen will be a great addition to the company’s senior leadership team.
“Mary Ellen brings to her new role a strong track record of success leading teams across our business, including manufacturing, operations and merchandising,” explained McMullen in a written statement. “She is the right leader to help shape our vision for store operations as we continue investing to grow.”
Beginning her 17-year career with Kroger in 1999 at Country Oven Bakery, Adcock has since held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Kroger Manufacturing, including Vice President of Deli/Bakery Manufacturing in Kroger's general office in 2009. As of 2014, Adcock was named to her most recent position of Vice President of Merchandising for Kroger Columbus.
