Lidl Enters the Pennsylvania Market

Lidl Enters the Pennsylvania Market

Wednesday, November 21st, 2018

While many reporting on the ongoing U.S. expansion efforts of Lidl may have voiced skepticism after the retailer announced plans to halt its efforts in Alabama this spring, the company is pressing on and doubling down on its efforts in key markets. Last week, Lidl acquired Best Market Grocery Stores, expanding its network in New York and New Jersey with 27 stores, and even broke into an all-new market.

Lidl’s latest efforts to bolster brick-and-mortar growth stateside have brought the retailer to the Keystone State. The company announced plans to open its first Pennsylvania location in Folsom on December 5, 2018.

While Lidl had halted expansion efforts in the South earlier this year, it appears Lidl has found its niche in the northeast market, as the retailer also expanded its New Jersey network with three new stores back in October.

How will Lidl continue to rework the retail landscape of the United States? And what new markets will the retailer set its sights on next? Deli Market News will continue to report with the latest.
