Southeastern Grocers is tapping long-time retail veteran Anthony Hucker as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Hucker brings more than 25 years of experience to the position, having previously worked at a number of retailers in various leadership positions. His most recent role was overseeing Schnucks as its President and COO between 2013 and 2015.
Ian McLeod, President and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, welcomed Hucker to his new role and felt strongly that his expertise in the retail field will prove invaluable.
“I am confident that Anthony will make a significant contribution to the performance of Southeastern Grocers,” said McLeod, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.
Prior to joining Schnucks, Hucker was named President of Giant Food in 2011. He gained domestic and international experience working with Walmart for seven years and Aldi UK for nine. During his time with Walmart, he was responsible for both global and new format development, as well as strategy and business development.
At the start of his career, Hucker was employed as an analyst for the European retail industry reporting on pan-European stocks to the City of London, the Jacksonville Daily Record reports.
