Specialty grocer Sprouts Farmers Market is continuing its trend of expanding its footprint with eleven new stores scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2016.
Sprouts said in a press release that these stores would open in the following states: Texas, Georgia, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona, and Alabama.
Each new store will add up to 100 additional jobs in their respective communities. As of the time of this article, the grand opening dates for each store is unclear, though the company said that it has scheduled openings for April, May, and June.
The arrival of each new quarter brings news of more locations for the retailer, with October’s previous announcement of twelve new locations: five in California, two in Georgia and Colorado, and one store each in Texas, Tennessee, and Missouri.
It’s no surprise to many that new store openings have proven to be hugely successful for the company. Most recently in Q3 2015, Sprouts’ sales increased 18% to $903.1 million compared to the same period last year, driven by a 5.8% increase in comparable store sales and solid performance in new stores.
“Sprouts’ commitment to health and value continues to resonate with customers seeking fresh, natural, and organic products at great prices, driving 34 consecutive quarters of positive comparable store sales growth,” said CEO Amin Maredia.
