Stater Bros. Markets may be on the hunt for ground on which to build new stores. The privately-owned supermarket chain recently announced its promotion of Michael Reed to Senior Vice President Real Estate and Development—strengthening its senior leadership team and perhaps teasing at expansion in the near future.
In total, Reed brings more than 18 years of retail real estate and development experience to his new position, five of which were spent with Stater Bros.
According to a company press release, Reed joined Stater Bros. in 2014 as Senior Director of Real Estate. In 2016, Reed was promoted to Vice President of Real Estate and oversaw the company’s real estate and property management divisions. In his new position, he will continue to oversee these areas, in addition to the company’s refrigeration and maintenance departments and in-house construction company, Stater Bros. Development, Inc. He will report directly to President George Frahm.
“Mike is a well-respected and valuable member of our Stater Bros. ‘family,’” said Frahm in a press release. “His proven leadership and deep knowledge of the retail real estate and commercial development environment will continue to be instrumental to the company’s success.”
Additionally, Reed sits on the Board of Directors for the Air Conditioning Contractors Association and is a trustee for the Inland Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trust Fund. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping centers.
Reed is a graduate of Boise State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance.
