Since UNFI acquired SuperValu in July of last year, the food industry has been watching the foodservice provider closely Together, the two entities have made headline after headline, slowly divesting SuperValu’s retail assets over time. Now that the new year has arrived, UNFI has taken another step toward solidifying its combined company: introducing new branding, a new motto, and a new website—with “better food. better future” as its new motto.
“UNFI + SUPERVALU have become UNFI to transform the world of food for our associates, customers, suppliers and the families we serve every day,” said the company on its new and improved website.
The company also noted as it addressed its new look: “Our branding has evolved to reflect where we are now, and where we’re heading—to meet the more diverse needs of our customers in this ever-changing industry.”
2019 will see UNFI taking a more mission-based approach, the company said. On its new website, the company notes it seeks to “transform the world” by introducing “smarter food solutions, from fulfillment to insights and beyond, that helps entrepreneurs and major brands alike unlock their full potential and transform their businesses—for the better.”
