Thursday, December 1st, 2016

Consumers are continuing to voice their demand of favored products, and influencing retail strategies along with it. Amongst the latest is Wegmans, as the chain looks to make a lasting impression on the shelf with newly cut prices.

Colleen Wegman, President, Wegmans“We offer the lowest prices in the market on items families use most, so they don’t have to run around town to find the best value,” stated President Colleen Wegman, according to “2016 has been a challenging year of deflation for our entire industry, lowering the costs and retails for staples like eggs and ground beef.”

With consumers growing interest in organics, the company has peppered the list with a healthy smattering of dairy products. According to the Wegmans website, consumers will now be able to purchase the following at a lower price:

  • Greek Yogurt, Variety Pack, 64 oz
  • Greek Yogurt Cup, Blueberry, 5.3 oz
  • Greek Yogurt Cup, Plain, 5.3 oz
  • Organic Greek Yogurt Cup, Black Cherry, 5.3 oz
  • Organic Greek Yogurt, Blueberry, 5.3 oz
  • Organic Greek Yogurt, Pineapple, 5.3 oz
  • Organic Greek Yogurt, Strawberry, 5.3 oz
  • Organic Almondmilk, Original, 64 oz
  • Organic Almondmilk, Vanilla, 64 oz
  • Organic Almondmilk, Vanilla Unsweetened, 64 oz

The lowering of prices for products like organic almond milk and greek yogurt was specifically selected to “to keep current with the changing trends of what today’s families are buying most,” continued Wegmans.

This investment by Wegmans into lower prices covers over 40 products. Each item was selected for being the most consistently meaningful to families who shop at the store.

All products whose prices have been lowered are part of the Wegmans brand, to allow the company more aggressive decisions with pricing. To view the whole list, click here
