Sargento Foods is gearing up for a major expansion to its Hilbert, Wisconsin facility, adding more than a hundred jobs in the process.
The cheese manufacturer is planning to add 60,000 square feet of space next to the Hilbert plant, located on Highway 57. Construction is expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2015, with occupancy expected late next year.
Louie Gentine, CEO of Sargento, was excited to share this news with the industry, noting that the additional space will boost production capacity.
“Sargento remains steadfast in our commitment to growing in Wisconsin,” he said in a press release. “We look forward to increasing our facilities in Hilbert to add production capacity.”
The existing plant was last remodeled and expanded three years ago. Sargento produces products for retail, food service, and ingredients at this location, according to a press release.
With the expansion comes the increased capacity for more jobs as well. The company plants to add 140 new employees to the already established 135 currently working there.
Earlier this year, Sargento began expansion construction on its Kiel and Elkhart Lake facilities.
