In its second season partnering with the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team, Sartori Cheese is once again helping to support the MACC Fund, or Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.
The MACC Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research into pediatric cancer and related blood disorders. For each Admiral's Power Play, Sartori says it will make a charitable donation to the organization and the Admirals will match the final donation amount.
"We are honored to be a part of such a noble cause and grateful to have such a generous partner," shares Sartori's Chief Marketing Officer Chad Vincent. "Our collaboration with the Milwaukee Admirals allows us to give back to our community, and we look forward to another great season!"
According to a press release, the majority of the MACC Fund's annual income is comprised of funds raised through special fundraising events, such as the partnership between Sartori and the Milwaukee Admirals.
When the MACC Fund was formed in 1976, the overall cure rate for childhood cancer was only 20%. But following decades of hard work from diligent researchers, dedicated caregivers, and the collaborative generosity of people supporting the MACC Fund and other charitable organizations, the overall cure rate has increased to 80%. However, even children in the 80% category can have "late effect" issues or can relapse which requires more research, Sartori explains. To date, the MACC Fund has contributed $54 million to childhood cancer and related blood disorder research.
