After filing for bankruptcy in September of last year, Seasons Kosher Supermarket has a new lease on life. The retailer is returning to Westchester, NY, under the management of businessman Joseph Bistritzky’s family. Seasons will reopen its 12,000-square-foot location in Scarsdale in time for Passover.
According to a news report from The Daily Voice, the retailer has planned other openings in Clifton, Lakewood, Lawrence, and Queens. The Scarsdale location will open at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, in the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center on Wilmot Road.
“Each member of our family brings a different strength to our team. Together, we have years of familiarity with kosher food manufacturing and distribution,” Bistritzky said upon announcement of the relaunch. “We have redeveloped the operational side of many businesses by forming and training managerial teams to have a keen understanding of community relations and family interface. It is an honor to serve the Jewish communities of Scarsdale, Clifton, Lakewood, Lawrence, and Queens.”
The new location will also have a new state-of-the-art kitchen that will allow for the production of food without the use of dairy or meat equipment.
“Seasons is welcoming the Scarsdale community to a renovated store with a completely new type of shopping experience,” said David Gellman, General Manager of the Seasons in Scarsdale. “Once containing only seven doors, the freezer aisle is now 36 doors long. A dairy section once spanning only 6 feet is now 72 feet long. Our renovations were driven from our commitment to provide more family value options for our customers.”
