Being awarded for your hard work is always a good feeling, but being awarded from someone you admire? The best feeling of all. Bernard's Gourmet Foods was recently selected to receive the 2020 H-E-B Supplier Diversity Supplier of the Year Award. This award is given to H-E-B suppliers to support multiple diversity efforts, such as Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and Veteran or Disabled Business Owners (MWVDBE).

Michele Bernard, Co-Founder, Bernard's Gourmet Foods“We are so very grateful for the amazing opportunity to be of service to and partner with H-E-B and the H-E-B Supplier Diversity team,” said Co-Founder Michele Bernard. “This award means the world to us, and we look forward to all the ways we will continue to work with H-E-B to champion, advocate, and cheer for our fellow H-E-B [MWVDBE] small business supplier community members. Nothing makes us feel better than sharing our table. H-E-B has allowed us the opportunity to extend our table in ways we never imagined we could. For this opportunity, and for this recognition, we are humbled and grateful.”

As a recipient of this award, Bernard’s Gourmet Foods is recognized as an active member and contributor to the development of MWVDBEs, as well as for their strong advocacy within the small business community, a press release explained.

H-E-B’s Supplier Diversity Champion Awards were presented at the H-E-B Supplier Diversity Opportunity Exchange on September 28, 2020. Held under the theme “Framing Economic Impact: Transformational, Intentional, and Pivotal,” this year’s virtual event provided an educational platform for diverse suppliers interested in doing business with H-E-B.

David Bernard, Co-Founder, Bernard's Gourmet Foods“We are humbled to the core and truly honored to receive this award,” said David Bernard, Co-Founder. "Through the H-E-B Diversity Supplier community and the Quest for Texas Best opportunity, we’ve been so fortunate to be able to learn from some of the very best small business owners in Texas. We’ve also been allowed the opportunity to mentor and help other small business owners as well. Michele and I are both passionate about nourishing others in any way we can, whether it is by sharing our table, our products, or our experiences, we take great delight in helping others achieve their goals.”

Congratulations to the Bernards on this honor!
