If I stop and take a deep breath, I swear I can pick up the faint smell of barbeque charcoals drifting through the wind—or I may just be a little too excited for grilling season. I know that there are consumers out there like me, counting down the minutes until they can pull out their grills and get cooking. And this year, Beyond Meat® is offering retailers the key to expanding their consumer base and capitalizing on the love of grilling to increase summer sales.
The plant-based maven has also revealed the addition of its Beyond Sausage Hot Italian® and Cookout Classic products to Walmart stores nationwide.
“We are thrilled by the continued growth with Walmart and the opportunity to offer Walmart customers increased accessibility to a larger selection of our delicious and better-for-you plant-based products,” said Chuck Muth, Chief Growth Officer. “As more households continue to buy our products and buy them more frequently, we’re excited to satisfy the growing demand through increased product offerings and distribution.”
Having begun the partnership with Walmart in 2015, the retailer will now carry Beyond Burger®, Beyond Sausage Brat Original, and Beyond Breakfast Sausage® patties, along with the latest additions of Beyond Sausage Hot Italian and Cookout Classic, according to a press release.
In addition to its new Beyond Burger, Beyond Meat’s Cookout Classic provides all of the delicious aspects of a traditional burger that consumers love, like a meaty taste and rich juiciness, but completely plant based. Not to mention, they are conveniently offered in a frozen value-pack to feed the entire family. After seeing so much success last summer, the limited-edition product became a permanent product offering, and is now available in over 500 Walmart locations nationwide.
With an already wide selection of plant-based, nutritious products in its portfolio, Beyond Meat has also revealed its new Beyond Burger, yet another tasty option perfect for grilling. The new offering will be available later this spring and features 35 percent less saturated fat than 80/20 ground beef, 30 percent less total fat, fewer calories and no cholesterol compared to 80/20 beef, and B vitamins and minerals comparable to the micronutrient profile of beef.
Last, but most certainly not least, Beyond Sausage is the optimal swap for traditional pork sausages, and have just as much flavor. Available in Brat Original, Hot Italian, and Sweet Italian varieties, you will be able to offer your shoppers a tasty trio that has less saturated fat and total fat than traditional pork sausages—and I think they’ll thank you.
All of these products will make up the perfect summertime grilling display, while offering consumers the added health benefits of plant-based products. Cross-merchandised with buns, condiments, charcoal, and traditional sides like chips and desserts, these Beyond Meat offerings will draw customers in in droves.
With that being said, I’ll be here waiting for the next sunny day to pull out my grill and get smoking. Until then, keep reading Deli Market News for more updates.
