Black Kassel Updates Looks With Latest Items; Darryl Castle Details

If you’ve been a reader of Deli Market News for a while, you know about my affinity for salami. Luckily for myself and other consumers with the same taste, the rise of the charcuterie board has led to salami innovation galore, and Black Kassel is among the brands growing in the space. Recently, it introduced an updated packaging design and expanded its portfolio to give shoppers more choices to indulge their eyes and taste buds.

Our research has shown that two-thirds of consumers believe there is a lot of duplication in what’s currently available in-store, and 80 percent are looking to try new flavors, varieties, and brands of charcuterie meats.”

After conducting research, Black Kassel has debuted a line of 4 oz packaged salamis. According to a release, they are pre-sliced and cracker-sized, making them ideal for an easy lunch, snack, or part of a charcuterie board.

All three varieties are naturally cold wood smoked and contain no artificial flavors or colors. They include:

  • Red Wine: Real red wine helps give this salami its distinct deep red color—a slightly smoky taste, mildly seasoned with hints of garlic and red wine
  • Roasted Garlic & Asiago: Cheese lovers rejoice! A mildly seasoned, slightly smoky salami that combines the sweet, nutty flavors of roasted garlic with the smooth, buttery taste of real Asiago cheese
  • Peppered Salami: A mild salami with subtle flavors of ginger and cloves and a slight kick from the black pepper coating

Black Kassel recently showed off the lineup at IDDBA and will be sampling them at Summer Fancy Food Show as well. If you are attending and want to get a taste of these delicious products, stop by booth #2849 on the show floor.
