Two key banners are welcoming an eye-catching offering to spice things up. Burlap & Barrel, a single-origin spice company working with expert farmers in more than 20 countries, announced its offerings have been picked up by two more retailers, The Fresh Market and Metropolitan Market.
"People want better spices in their grocery stores, and we're bringing it to them. We started as an online-only business, and now we're coming to your favorite specialty grocer," shared Ori Zohar, Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Burlap & Barrel.

"The Fresh Market is thrilled to offer Burlap & Barrel spices in our stores! The Fresh Market and Burlap & Barrel are aligned that single-origin spices from small farms are the future of spices,” Morgan Nida, Spice Buyer at The Fresh Market, commented.
The Fresh Market's Burlap offering will range from Massachusetts to Florida, west to Oklahoma, and north to Illinois with offerings like Royal Cinnamon; Black Lime; Black Urfa Chili; Purple Stripe Garlic; Sun-Dried Tomato Powder; Smoked Pimentón; Paprika; Wild Mountain Cumin.
Metropolitan Market will stock more than 60 individual spices altogether, offering an array of Burlap & Barrel’s top-selling single origin spices.
“I choose to serve our guests by presenting a true destination spice category. Burlap & Barrel intrigued me and once I tasted the selection, I was culinarily transported. I knew the offerings would elevate my cooking and that my guests would love these. The exceptional curation, honest flavors, and equitable sourcing make these a must-have in all kitchens,” Frank Schuck, Center Store Category Manager at Metropolitan Market, said.
The two banners join a network of Burlap & Barrel retailer partners, including Fresh Direct, MOMs, Central Market, and Market of Choice.
