The map of Costco’s store locations is rapidly expanding as the retailer unveiled plans for several new warehouses in the works. Recently, Costco announced it will be opening up the doors on its new sites in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; Moore, Oklahoma; Springfield, Missouri; and Naperville, Illinois.
According to MSN, the new Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, locations are all set to open in July. First up, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee, location will be opening its doors on July 20, which will be closely followed by the Oklahoma and Arkansas stores opening on July 21–22. The new Missouri and Illinois warehouses will follow suit, opening their doors in August.
In addition to a massive expansion in the U.S., the retailer is also eyeing international growth, revealing plans to open new warehouse locations in Moriyama, Japan, and New South Wales, Australia, over the next couple of months.
This critical expansion follows the retailer’s recent announcement of another exciting strategy—the return of free samples at 170 of its 550 locations.
As Costco continues to solidify its hold on the retail landscape, Deli Market News will keep an eye on the retail trail.
