Dot Foods, one of the nation’s largest food industry redistributors, announced that it is building a new distribution center in Bear, Delaware. The facility will be roughly 200,000 square feet and will employ 100 people from around the area.
“We’re very excited about the addition of the location here in Delaware,” stated Joe Little, General Manager of the new facility. “When you look at that whole Mideast, Mid-Atlantic corridor, we have a lot of business needs in that area.”
According to a report from the Delaware News Journal, Little explained that the facility will likely be done at the beginning of February 2020. Once completed, it will open within a month.
This new distribution center, as Little alluded to, will help Dot Foods expand its eastern operations. The nearest centers to the Bear facility are in Williamsport, Maryland, and Liverpool, New York.
