With marks of excellence to rival, Emmi Roth is heading into the rest of the year accompanied by a full trophy case. At the recent World Championship Cheese Contest, the company earned a total of four awards, joining the circle of the top 20 cheeses in the world with two Best of Class wins.

Roth® Grand Cru Surchoix scored 99.825 in the Washed Rind/Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses, Extra Aged (over nine months) category, ranking it Best of Class. The product is made at Emmi Roth’s creamery in Monroe, Wisconsin, and formerly won the World Champion title six years ago.
The company was also recognized as Best of Class for its Roth Creamy Havarti, which scored an impressive 99.07 points. According to a press release, Roth Pavino took home second place in the Washed Rind/Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses, Extra Aged category and Roth Grand Cru Reserve earned third place in the Washed Rind/Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses, Mature (less than nine months) category. Emmi Emmentaler AOP, taking home a third-place award, scored a 98.6 in the Rinded Swiss Style category.
Judges evaluated more than 2,978 different entries at the World Championship Cheese Contest, and a full list of winners can be found online.
