Fiscalini Farmstead’s Laura Genasci Discusses California Artisan Cheese Festival Showcase

MODESTO, CA
Wednesday, May 4th, 2022

Excitement for both cheese and in-person events abounds as the California Artisan Cheese Festival makes its way toward us. One company I was eager to get in touch with ahead of the event is Fiscalini Farmstead. Laura Genasci, Co-Owner of the company, clues me in on what the cheesemaker has in store for attendees.

Laura Genasci, Co-Owner, Fiscalini Farmstead“We are excited to be back at the Artisan Cheese Fest this year. This event is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our entire line of cheeses,” begins Laura. “We currently make three aged raw milk cheeses and six Cheddar cheeses with fun and flavor. I am also excited to share that attendees will find our seasonal Cheddar, Cranberry Habanero, as part of our showcase.”

As consumers continue to gravitate toward the cheese case, Fiscalini endeavors to meet their demands. Laura let me in on exciting developments in the company’s operations. Currently, the cheesemaker is installing new production and packaging equipment that will create efficiencies within the plant.

At this year's California Artisan Cheese Festival, attendees will be able to get a look at Fiscalini Farmstead's seasonal Cheddar, Cranberry Habanero

“Last year, we made and sold more cheese than we ever had, and we are planning to continue that growth,” Laura continues. “Aligning with strategic partners is always the goal, and we look forward to seeing what 2022 has in store.”

This year, the Cheese Festival returns for its 16th season, and cheesemakers like Fiscalini are coming from all over to Santa Rosa, California, to experience the quality and flavor these exquisite cheese producers have to offer. Exhibitors like Laura have not been able to reconnect over the past two years, and this event is one the industry has been anticipating.

“Our community is full of many passionate crafters just like ourselves, and we can’t wait to reunite,” explains Laura. “We are also excited to interact with all the cheese fans out there who will be in attendance. Being able to share our story and our products with cheese lovers alike is long overdue.”

In 2021, Fiscalini Farmstead made and sold more cheese than ever before and is planning to continue that growth moving forward

Products have been honed and crafted with the same dedication Fiscalini has committed to for four generations. Laura—along with Co-Owner and her brother Brian Fiscalini and the company—strives to keep traditional cheesemaking alive with a team of hard-working employees. Through these efforts, the company has garnered many a recognition among local and international awards.

“There is great pride in the Fiscalini family, and we have cared for our people, our cows, and our land for four generations. Our commitment to sustainability and crafting the best cheeses in the world will not change, and we are as eager as ever,” concludes Laura.

To catch up with the team and learn more about its offerings, be sure to check Fiscalini out this weekend at the Sonoma County Event Center. And be sure to keep an eye out for DMN’s very own Miss Chandler James as she makes her way throughout the event!
