The burger. It’s no doubt it is a prime staple in American cuisine, and one highly coveted by a large majority of consumers. Bringing a new plant-based burger to Smashburger menus for a limited time, jack & annie’s is supporting the foodservice operator’s menu with the Plant-Based Classic Smash® Burger, now available in select Smashburger locations across Colorado, New York, and New Jersey.
“Our jack & annie’s plant-based burger is the best of all worlds—it has an incredibly meaty texture, and is made first and foremost from jackfruit, a plant that contributes to the sustainable future of food, while still tasting delicious,” said Annie Ryu, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of jack & annie’s. “This newest offering at Smashburger lets consumers in Colorado and New York enjoy high-quality, vegetarian-friendly options while dining out and helps fulfill our vision of bringing jack & annie’s foods to diners everywhere.”
The new Plant-Based Classic Smash Burger delivers mouth-watering flavor and savory seasoning in every bite, as explained in a press release, and can be substituted in any burger offering to give customers even more vegetarian-friendly options in-store.
As the Classic Smash Burger, the delicious plant-based patty will be complemented by American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, Smash Sauce®, and ketchup on a toasted bun.
“With over 15 years of experience creating better-burgers and providing a premium fast-casual dining moment for our guests, quality and innovation remain at the core of who we are,” said Carl Bachmann, President of Smashburger. “As part of Smashburger’s aggressive approach to menu innovation and catering to our guest's evolving tastes, we have continued to diversify our product portfolio with the test of our new Plant-Based Classic Smash Burger, made by jack & annie’s. This partnership felt like a natural next step in Smashburger’s journey to offer more diverse and clean plant-based options for our guests, while still delivering the premium, top-quality menu items our fans know and love.”
Smashburger has a knack for optimizing consumer trends and establishing unique menu additions, and this plant-based offering is just the latest addition to the operator’s beloved burger menu.
Will we see an expansion of this foodservice partnership in other markets? Only time and Deli Market News will tell.
