It’s always exciting to hear about the latest brand developments in our industry, but when that growth is headlined by a comprehensive brand refresh, an updated website, and an upcoming product launch—you can bet Deli Market News is all ears. A recent conversation with Jim Anderko, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Venus Wafers, clued me in on what’s to come from this ever-evolving brand.
“The Mariner and CäPeachio’s brand refresh is part of a company-wide initiative to evolve the packaging of all Venus Wafers products across the board,” shared Jim. “We are committed to staying relevant and connected with the modern shopper without sacrificing the quality of crackers and flatbreads we are known for.”
The enticing brand refresh for CäPeachio’s artisan crackers includes all-new photography of the elegantly simple crackers with new toppings, while a deeper, more vibrant color palette coupled with subtle patterns highlights the range of flavors.
Also receiving an alluring brand update is the Mariner lineup, which now sports a fresh new look featuring subtle nautical patterns that give a nod to the brand’s New England heritage. New photography also highlights the natural ingredients Mariner is known for.
“When I came to Venus 25 years ago, we had over seven brands, gift pack options, and more than 100 SKUs,” Jim reflects. “Today, we are more focused, with two brands and 25 SKUs that are centered around our strengths: water crackers, stoned wheat crackers, and flatbreads baked in a variety of shapes and sizes. We will continue to focus on our strengths and are excited about the opportunities with South Shore Puffs in the snack category.”
Named for the Massachusetts location of Venus Wafers, South Shore Puff Snacks are a quinoa puff snack that’s crunchy, flavorful, and wholesome. With a target launch in January, the product will soon be available in vegan Nacho Cheese flavor, as well as Chili Lime and the company’s proprietary Barbecue blend.
Supporting all of this impressive brand growth is Venus Wafers’ new website, which includes ingredient information for discerning shoppers, as well as an updated, more intuitive process for retail partners to begin private labeling and co-packaging submissions.
“Our new website underscores our commitment to staying relevant and connected with both our consumers and our retail partners,” Jim adds. “We’ve augmented the product information and made the site more interactive for the modern shopper, and we’ve streamlined the process for private labeling submissions. And, of course, we continue to tell the story of Venus Wafers and our family of brands.”
