Wandering down the aisles on the IDDBA show floor, it was nice to see a familiar face in Klondike Cheese Co. It was especially exciting to see that familiar face doing so many great things in cheese, as well! I spoke with Luke Buholzer, Vice President of Sales, to learn more about the company’s Greek yogurt line and retail cheeses.
“We’re introducing our line of Greek yogurt dips. They’re made with a Greek yogurt base, and they come in French Onion, Bell Pepper, and Southwest. They’re a nice alternative to traditional sour cream, and they pair well with chips, vegetables, and other traditional dip uses,” he told me.
The company is also introducing the retail line of its Buholzers Brothers brand, which includes Brick, Muenster, and Harvarti cheeses. These are available at retail in 7 oz and 8 oz formats, depending on the cheese variety. They also come in a single-pack.
Luke also shared with me why Klondike cheese stands apart from others on the market.
“Klondike Cheese is a fourth-generation, family-owned company. All of our cheeses are made by Wisconsin master cheesemakers. We have six on staff, which is close to 10 percent of the population of master cheesemakers in the world,” he concluded.
