It is said not to judge a book by its cover, but as shoppers scan the aisles, a product's packaging is what catches their eyes and could lead to them adding the offering to their baskets. Lakeview Farms understands this, which is why the supplier redesigned its La Mexicana brand packages, earning the company a Designalytics Effectiveness Award.
"Hundreds of package designs were considered this year, and we're honored to be one of nine to win an award," commented Greg Klein, Chief Marketing Officer at Lakeview Farms, about the recent honor.
The Designalytics Effectiveness Awards recognize package redesigns that have been instrumental in driving brand growth, a release explained.
Looking to move toward national distribution, La Mexicana recognized that a substantial redesign would be needed, so the team partnered with Cornerstone Strategic Branding and started consumer research.
Overall, 12 design concepts were tested, and a rooster was one element of the current design that was recognized by consumers. Therefore, the rooster logo became the focal point of the design, and bright, vibrant colors were added to the package.
The redesign had a profound impact on La Mexicana's sales, returning the brand to growth with a year-over-year sales increase of 15 percent. The Designalytics judging process is entirely data-driven, based on sales performance in the marketplace and rigorous quantitative consumer testing, which is why Lakeview Farms received the award.
Congratulations to Lakeview Farms and its La Mexicana brand on this win!
