Dining al fresco under the stars is an experience to cherish. On the Reinstein Ranch set against the hills of California’s San Francisco Bay Area, guests sampled Mediterranean-inspired dishes that ranged from beef tartare to smoked stuffed grape leaves. The event, appropriately titled M(eat) Carnival, is a dining experience concept born in Israel in 2016, by two chefs, Gili and Ohad. It was brought to the United States in partnership with Chef Itamar Abramovitch of Blossom Catering - Napa.

Aspire Bakeries sponsored the event with two brands: La Brea Bakery breads were part of the activations, and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies were a delicious surprise for guests at the end of the evening.

Brie Buenning, Director of Marketing, La Brea Bakery“Across the world and spanning cultures, gathering for a meal brings people together. The communal feast at M(eat) Carnival creates the opportunity to literally break bread with our hands and enjoy exotic flavors of the Mediterranean-inspired dishes that Chefs Itamar Abramovitch and Ohad Kvity have created. This is La Brea Bakery’s second partnership with Chef Itamar, and we love watching the imagination he brings to our artisan breads and the unique spotlight he puts on our brand. La Brea Bakery looks for every opportunity to support chefs in their creativity,” remarked Brie Buenning, Director of Marketing for La Brea Bakery.

I cannot highlight each dish that was created, as I suspect our readership will become rather jealous of the craftsmanship and creativity highlighted. Twenty-one dishes in total spanned across meats, seafoods, breads, and desserts, and everyone was encouraged to literally and figuratively get their hands dirty to sample all the flavors featured.

Some dishes featured La Brea Bakery’s products, such as the Country White Sourdough Loaf, which was fried in tallow and paired with apple compote and faux gras—a creation of Chef Itamar’s that utilizes cashews to create a buttery vegan spread.

These dining events are one-of-a-kind. They might not be for everyone, but, just as the mission of the event promised, they bring people together to celebrate one thing we all love: good food. It’s experiential dining at its finest, something that younger diners are clamoring for.

As the evening wound down and guests began to leave, they received Otis Spunkmeyer cookies as a send-off.

Paul Stippich, Director of Marketing, Otis Spunkmeyer“Otis Spunkmeyer cookies bring a delicious surprise ending to the extravagant feast at M(eat) Carnival. And everyone eats cookies with their hands, so they fit right in! Every culture has its own cookie story, and being part of Chef Itamar and Chef Ohad’s amazing event shows that, regardless of the cuisine, cookies are always the perfect dessert,” added Paul Stippich, Director of Marketing for Otis Spunkmeyer.

An activation for the ages, it’s incredible to see brands partnering with chefs in such innovative ways.
