At the Winter Fancy Food Show last month, we sampled and sought out specialty cheeses from around the globe. And while a Vermont washed-rind, a California chèvre, or a Colombian bufala mozzarella or two might turn our head, it’s hard not to return to Switzerland as the mecca of cheese.
I recently caught up with Al Baca, Mifroma USA’s East Coast Regional Sales Manager, to learn more about Mifroma and its focus on some of the world’s most venerable cheese traditions.
“Mifroma USA has been in existence since 2011,” Al explained to me. “Mifroma USA is devoted exclusively to the sale of Switzerland cheese in the United States. Our focus is on traditional cheeses from Switzerland.”
With a focus on some of Switzerland’s finest and most storied varieties, Mifroma offers its customers: Gruyére®, Switzerland Swiss, Emmentaler, its Fondue Express line, Raclette and Raclette slices, Appenzeller®, and a number of Swiss specialty cheeses.
