Honing in on the development of its technological reach, Northeast Grocery, the parent company of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Market, has named a new leader. The retailer revealed that Scott Kessler will become its Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, joining the company’s executive ring.
“I’m excited to guide the integration to completion, and lead the strategic roadmap for technology solutions that enhance the way we engage with customers, optimize operations, and empower data-driven decision-making,” Kessler said. “Our commitment to harnessing digital and AI-powered solutions will unlock new possibilities, elevate customer satisfaction, and position us to deliver exceptional value while propelling us toward a future of unparalleled success.”
The Leader-Herald reported that Kessler has been tasked with spearheading the development and execution of the company’s technology roadmap. For both banner companies, Kessler will be directing the IT Functions and identifying new opportunities to improve efficiency using technology.
Prior to landing this role, Kessler was the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at BJ’s Wholesale Club. He has also held leadership positions with Belk, GSI Commerce, and Accenture. Kessler holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and an MBA earned at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Both Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Market will benefit from Kessler’s leadership through Northeast Shared Services. He will report to Northeast Grocery Chief Executive Officer Frank Curci.
“We are thrilled that Scott is joining us as Executive Vice President and CIO,” Curci said. “His knowledge and experience with leading both IT integrations and modernizations are unparalleled. More importantly, his ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve sustainable results makes him the perfect fit for our leadership team.”
Best wishes to Scott Kessler in his new position!
