Buying better-for-you products is all the rage with consumers, and they are looking for that ethos to be applied across the specialty department as well. Olli Salumeria is one provider delivering on that demand, as evidenced by the supplier’s latest line of products.
“Specifically, we want to highlight our preservative-free concept,” said Marco Terenghi, Chief Commercial Officer. “We have decided to eliminate all forms of nitrates from our salami, including the celery juice powder. We have come out with a new formula that does not include any nitrates whatsoever.”
Marco went on to explain that Olli submitted the new formula to challenge study and USDA, and it recently got approved. The new preservative-free formula encompasses three product lines that have already proven to be popular for Olli: Salamini, Chubs, and Sliced Salami.
“Now our latest product is the preservative-free sliced salami. We’re going to be launching Genoa and Sopressata,” Marco explained. “We are the first salami manufacturer in the United States to release salami that is fully nitrate free.”
