From a renewed partnership to a prestigious workplace award, 2025 is already shaping up to be a great year for the Saputo USA team. One of the cheesemaker's many strengths is its selection of imported cheeses, a powerful portfolio recently discussed by Philip Forbes-Pryer, Director of Category Management.
"Here at Saputo, we do a lot of imported cheeses from all over the world, so we're seeing a lot of flavor trends at the moment,"Philip shared. "We have just launched a Wensleydale cheddar with hot honey, that's a fantastic cheese from the United Kingdom, and we're also looking at existing flavors that are always around and popular with consumers, so we've actually got a Gouda cheese which tastes like pizza, which is really cool and very unique."
As Philip emphasizes, Saputo is a forward-thinking company when it comes to category insights, and one that is dedicated to helping its partners uncover new channels for growth to maximize their business.
"Importing cheese is obviously not easy, simple or straightforward, but we've been doing it for decades now and we're the second largest license holder for imported cheeses," Philip added. "The majority of our cheeses come through Karlstad, New Jersey, and we distribute nationwide from there as a focal point."
