Saputo recently announced that it launched Wensleydale and Vandersterre cheeses to meet demand in the United States market.
“We see a continued demand for imported cheeses from consumers and also a distinct call for flavored products that enhance and complement the cheeses; to that end, we utilize our partners from all over the world and collaborate to bring fresh flavors to the United States,” remarked Philip Forbes-Pryer, Director Category Management - Imported Cheese, Saputo USA.
According to a press release, the new Wensleydale Cheeses include Mango Ginger, Hot & Spicy Cheddar, and Truffle Cheddar.
The new Vandersterre Cheeses include Kaamps Estate Pizza Gouda Wedge, Kamps Estate Maple Whiskey Wedge, and the Landa Jersey XO Wedge.
“We also ensure that we respect the traditional cheesemaking techniques and select flavors that elevate the cheese,” added Forbes-Pryer. “Specifically to these cheeses, we tapped into current industry trends for sweet heat, alcohol infusion, as well as ongoing consumer trends of pizza and truffle.”
