It’s not every day that you get to interview Mike Kurtz, Founder of Mike’s Hot Honey®. We recently had the opportunity to speak with this industry innovator about a newly released product—a collaboration with Saputo’s Montchevre brand.
"Mike's Hot Honey and goat cheese—for me, that's always been one of the best pairings. Goat cheese has this cool creaminess that complements the sweet heat of Mike's Hot Honey so well,” Mike told us. “In this particular product, the flavor experience really mirrors the flavor experience of eating Mike's Hot Honey. So you get the sweetness up front and then the kick kind of comes in on the back of your palate.”
Mike has been making Mike’s Hot Honey for 20 years, and the company has been in business for 14 years. With this latest brand collab, the company has achieved an industry first.
“This is the first time that Mike's Hot Honey has been combined into a cheese,” Mike continued. “That's a first for our brand. That's a first for Montchevre. So it's pretty cool to see how it was executed in a way that really faithfully delivers on the one-two sweet heat punch."
