Franklin, Kentucky, is where it’s at for retail growth. Trader Joe’s is plotting its next expansion in the Bluegrass State as it invests $260 million to set up shop in the region. The retailer is looking to build and outfit a warehousing, distribution, and cold storage facility, which will bolster its ongoing growth.

Recently, Trader Joe’s was approved for state tax incentives and has purchased 160 acres in Franklin, Kentucky’s new Stone-Givens Industrial Park, as reported by Bowling Green Daily News.

With its eyes trained on southcentral Kentucky, Trader Joe’s is investing $260 million to set up shop in the region

Work has already begun on the three-building, 1-million-square-foot distribution center that some local leaders say will be the largest economic development project in the county’s history.

When the facility is completed, it is expected to employ nearly 900 associates.

How will this distribution center help the California chain expand its reach? DMN will keep an eye on the wire.
