Sometimes in a new job, it can take a while to get your feet under the table, but that wasn’t the case for the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association’s (WCMA) newest hire. The association recently announced that it has brought on Ellie Herman as the new Communications, Education, and Policy Coordinator. According to a press release, this new addition to the team will help the organization’s member services continue to grow.
“In just the first few weeks, I’ve learned a lot about the dairy processing industry, and how our work at WCMA can help members grow their businesses and find greater success,” said Herman, who officially started on December 2, 2019. “I’m thrilled to put my skills to work toward that purpose.”
Herman has significant experience managing social media campaigns, having graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication.
“WCMA is adding talented staff to serve our members,” said Executive Director John Umhoefer. “Our industry-specific trainings, workforce recruitment initiatives, communications presence, and major events are expanding, and Ellie will help members engage in all these opportunities.”
Additionally, WCMA recently promoted Sara Schmidt to the role of Office and Member Service Manager.
In her new role, Schmidt will be running WCMA’s scholarship program, elevating its online and print member directory, welcoming new members, and guiding special projects. Schmidt also manages WCMA’s accounting and database systems, and has been with WCMA since August 2018.
Congratulations to both Ellie Herman and Sara Schmidt on their new positions!
