The sea of meats, cheeses, and breads weren’t all there was to delight your tastebuds at this year’s IDDBA Dairy-Deli-Bake Expo. We were lucky enough to get a taste of some of the world’s finest import products from Robert (Bob) Saloman, Director of Retail Sales for Castella Imports.
“Castella is kind of a unique company. We’re an importer manufacturer, so 95 percent of our products are imported,” Bob tells me as we talk about what makes Castella’s programs so unique. “We even bring in olives from 12 different countries,” Bob added as he mentioned the company’s spice line spans 17 different countries.
While the many delectable products Bob showed me were just the tip of the iceberg as far as what Castella has to offer, we got a chance to speak about:
“We’ll take a four leaf balsamic and infuse with things like chocolate, pomegranate, strawberry, apple—a little more for the specialty trade,” Bob explained.
