For more than 70 years, the George DeLallo Company has been providing consumers with high-quality Mediterranean foods. The company’s olive bars feature olives and antipasti that pair gourmet flavor with grab-and-go convenience in supermarkets throughout North America.
I recently had the opportunity to touch base with DeLallo’s Marketing Coordinator Zachary Tackett and find out more about how retailers can capitalize on the company’s offerings to drive sales and draw consumers to deli and bakery destinations.
“More than solo Mediterranean goodies, the olive bar is an entertaining destination. While olives & antipasti are amazing stand-alone bites and ingredients, they are natural complements to what the deli and bakery departments already offer: cured meats, specialty cheeses, dips, spreads, crispy gourmet crackers, fresh-baked breads…the list is endless,” Zachary tells me. “Consumers are looking for gourmet grab-and-go.”
A DeLallo olive bar, Zachary tells me, is more than a line of products—it’s a destination for consumers, as entertaining and captivating experientially as it is appetizing. And with snack foods trending and consumers migrating increasingly to fresh-focused offerings, the company’s olive and antipasti are perfect to capture consumers’ dollars and cross-promote along the store periphery.
“It’s no secret that appetizers and antipasti, Happy Hour bites, and gourmet snacking are on-trend. Consumers are really getting into the idea of elaborate presentations that are as simple to create as pairing up their favorite flavors,” said Zachary. “With a focus on cheese boards, charcuterie spreads, and tapas plates, olives and antipasti have gained even more popularity with the entertaining consumers.”
Zachary tells me that DeLallo is perennially at work rounding out the company’s offerings with on-trend and classic bites, and the company’s olive bars are ideal to cross-promote products in a single compelling retail destination.
“In addition to the new and best-loved classics found at the olive bar, we are featuring a hand-selected collection of complementary gourmet accompaniments perfect for pairing up with their favorite olive bar bites,” Zachary adds. “These tasty high-end accents include fig spread, crisp focaccia toasts, olive tapenades, bruschettas, and traditional air-cured meats. These items give consumers all of what they want in one place—the best of gourmet grab-and-go entertaining.”
DeLallo products are currently available throughout the United States and parts of Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
