Although many of us are used to applying granola in singular-role uses, such as a light topping or snack, Wildway is looking to shake up the traditional roles of grain and grain-type breakfast foods in a big way. The main, and somewhat shocking, feature? All Wildway granolas are grain-free.
Co-Founder Kelli Koehler took a moment out of her active schedule to divulge the latest behind the company, and its line of granolas. Founded with Kelli’s husband, Kyle, the husband and wife team behind the company is proud to announce freshest offering to Wildway’s selection; all natural, instant hot cereals.
“In general, we felt that the cereal aisle was broken - full of empty carbs and sugar,” Kelli tells me. “Breakfast is the most important meal you can eat because it sets the tone for the whole rest of your day. Your body needs protein and fiber and energy to attack your day, but unless you had time to cook in the morning, there wasn't a whole lot out there.”
Thus came Wildway’s line of grain-free granolas, and the subsequent hot cereals, finding its way to consumers in what Kelli says was a granola-sized retail gap. Per the company's way of life, each product is cultivated with care and pride. Every product the company offers is non-GMO, and made in-house at Wildway’s facility in San Antonio, TX.
“At Wildway, it's about more than the food. It's about what the food allows you to do,” Kelli divulges as she speaks about what led to the company’s founding in a market full of too-quick breakfast options. “We believe that a full life starts with the food that you put in your body, and our aim is to provide these nutrient-rich foods that allow you to live life to the fullest. That potential lies within each of us.”
This kind of mentality has carried the company through its expansion of simple granolas, and into its new hot cereal line. Wildway has also expanded its retail offerings as the company’s granolas and hot cereals have recently launched into three new Whole Foods Regions within the past month, alone. Granola-enthused consumers can now find Wildway in these areas, and online:
To maximize on marketing potential, Kelli recommends that retailers combine both the products together. “Our granola actually makes an excellent topping, it’s the perfect cross-promotion,” she says.
So what’s next for the company? Continued growth, and products that match the Wildway mentality. This mentality is what inspired Kelli to help found the company, and continues to harness the drive behind Wildway.
“We have the ability to choose our own destiny, live without fears or limits, challenge ourselves and grow,” finishes Kelli. “To do and be whatever makes us happy. It's how you live a Wildway of life and there are people all around us inspiring others with their actions.”
It’s this active way of existing that keeps Kelli, Kyle, and the Wildway team moving forward and innovating, and DeliMarket News will be sure to keep an eye on the company as they continue to #LiveWild.
