Lipari Foods has reached an agreement to acquire the specialty and gourmet business of Leo A. Dick & Sons Co., a Canton, Ohio-based company.
Leo A. Dick & Sons is a specialty grocery distributor that offers over 7,000 specialty food items representing more than 400 manufacturers and purveyors of gourmet foods. The company services food markets in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, and Western Pennsylvania.
The acquisition will further strengthen Lipari’s existing portfolio of natural, organic, and gluten-free foods, according to a press release.
“Our customers continue to bring more natural, organic, and specialty products into their stores in order to meet the needs of today’s consumer,” said Lipari Foods President and CEO Thom Lipari. “With the acquisition of Leo A. Dick & Sons, we will continue to deliver high quality product solutions to our customer base.”
Leo Dick, the grandson of the Leo A. Dick & Sons founder, said that he is thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Lipari Foods and that he looks forward to supporting the company.
“This will benefit our current customers by increasing our product offering more than tenfold and enable Lipari Foods to represent a broader an more innovative product selection,” he said.
The acquisition is subject to completion of definitive documentation and satisfaction of customary closing conditions, which is expected to occur in the next several weeks.
