Earlier this month, Specialty Food Association (SFA) and Milan-based Seeds&Chips shared their knowledge regarding global innovation at this year’s Global Food Innovation Summit. Hosted by Seed&Chips, the event drew thousands of international attendees to Milan. SFA President Phil Kafarakis joined a panel of industry insiders to discuss “The Future of Retail.”
“Sharing our knowledge of global innovation and efforts to improve the food system is a responsibility we take seriously," said Kafarakis in a press release. “As consumers become better educated about food—focusing on where it comes from, how it’s processed, what’s healthy, and what’s not—they are looking more and more to companies that share their values, not just offer value. Through this relationship, Seeds&Chips and the SFA will join efforts to help businesses understand important trends and provide them with actionable ideas and solutions to meet today’s challenges.”
He continued, stating that, “It was great being in Milan and sharing how American retailers are thinking, planning, and marketing. In the U.S., we’re seeing grocery retailers move into setting up same-day delivery, maximizing online sales, and touting food sources and sustainability practices through their advertising. These trends and others are important for everyone to understand when working with the U.S. marketplace.”
Next for the two companies is SFA’s 2018 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City. Once again addressing industry innovation and cutting-edge solutions to global food concerns, Seeds&Chips will connect attendees to food solutions.
The company noted that it is known for addressing issues that impact the food chain such as the increasing world population, climate change, scarcity of resources, and changes in the processes of choice and purchase.
“At the Global Food Innovation Summit, we bring leading global entrepreneurs, investors and executives together with startups, companies, accelerators, and incubators from around the world," said Marco Gualtieri, Founder and Chairman of Seeds&Chips. “Everyone brings their ideas and solutions to the table. We believe that innovation from all sources can create a new food paradigm that is sustainable and accessible to everyone. We look forward to sharing those possibilities with the attendees at SFA’s Summer Show in New York City this June.”
