Specialty Food Association Announces Super Sessions and Excite Talks for the 43rd Annual Winter Fancy Foods Show

It’s finally just around the corner, and as we welcome the new year, the Specialty Food Association’s 43rd Annual Winter Fancy Food Show makes sure we welcome new business acumen to the plate, too. This year’s show, which runs January 21-23 in San Francisco, offers over 20 hours of education programming and is focused on enlightening and inspiring those within the industry. Not-to-be-missed informative programs will be offered through the Super Sessions and Excite Talks.

Phil Kafarakis, President, Specialty Food Assosciation“Our goal is to extend beyond the show floor and bring the best speakers and the most relevant and important topics to our members and attendees,” said Phil Kafarakis, President, Specialty Food Association, in a recent press release. “We want everyone to have opportunities to connect with thought-leaders and decision-makers in the specialty food industry and walk out of the show feeling enlightened, empowered, and confident.”

What’s on the agenda, you ask? Well, the organization is pulling out all the stops. One of the topics to be explored in the Super Sessions is a new business model for specialty foods while facing an age when perceptions and interactions are so powerful; this will be led by Dave Donnan, A.T. Kearny senior partner.

Winter Fancy Food Show

Another topic on the Super Session agenda is geared towards selling specialty, where Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert will moderate a panel consisting of Jacqueline Ross, Retail Business Services/Ahold; Richard Tarlov, Canyon Market; Lynn Hochberg, Wawa; Harley Butler, Shipt; and Jeremy Gosch, Hy-Vee.

Lastly, the Super Sessions will dive into the minds of innovators, as Phil Kafarkis, President of the SFA, will guide a discussion with industry leaders, including Rusty Schwartz, Founder of KitchenTown; Pradeep Elankumaran, CEO and Co-Founder of Farmstead; Ethan Brown, Founder and CEO of Byond Meat; and Shannon Allen, Creator of Grown.

While the Sessions are exciting in their own right, the Excite Talks, which are shorter in length, offer high-energy presentations on many different levels. A full schedule can be found at the organizations website, here.
