The Winter Fancy Food Show can be a busy, but exciting time for exhibitors. For the fine folks at Venus Wafers, it was an opportunity for the company to feature its new line of Mariner Organic Little Dippers® crackers. Attendees were able to sample and view the retail boxes to get a sense of why the organic label is so important to the cracker company. I was able to speak with James Anderko, Vice President Sales & Marketing about their new line of organics.
“As everyone knows, right now organics are strong; people are looking at organics,” James told me. “With many customers, the first thing they ask is what new organics you have. That’s why we’re looking at what we have in-house already and what we can easily make organic. We’re always doing that, and at the same time looking at what is out there that we could make using certain ingredients.”
Mariner Organic Little Dippers crackers come in flavors of Thin Wheat and Clubhouse, and both are available in 5.5 oz Bag-in-a-box and 1.5 oz snack size. According to James, the crackers got a great response at the Winter Fancy Food Show. The company aims to make unique products that appeal to consumers’ wants, which is exactly why Venus Wafers is expanding on its organic and better-for-you offerings.
“From a standpoint of being healthy and better-for-you, that’s what Venus is all about,” said James.
While the company is currently working on more organic offerings, it is also focusing on the marketing, packaging, and flavors of preexisting products.
“We’ve been redesigning our 5 oz Nejaime’s Lavasch that will be debuted at IDDBA, and we’re adding a new flavor,” James noted.
It looks like there’s lots to look forward to with Venus Wafers, and Deli Market News will continue to keep you updated on the company’s new developments.
