The only thing I can think of that could improve a happy marriage like meat and cheese is to make it more portable—so I never have to stop eating it—and Volpi seems to have caught on to this weakness that I share with consumers.
The company launched an expansion to its already successful new Roltini Singles snacking line: mild Oaxaca Cheese wrapped with thin slices of Uncured Chorizo.
"We're on a mission to make good food portable. Our fans are craving more convenient options along with smaller portions as they shift away from the traditional three-meals-a-day rule and embrace a more frequent snacking schedule," said Deanna Depke, Marketing Manager.
The company calls the combination of a classic Hispanic cheese and a Spanish-style Chorizo its boldest flavor combination yet, targeting a large part of the population it says is looking for a sense of culinary adventure in a familiar format.
Taking this measure of growth even further, Volpi has entered a partnership with one of the leaders of convenient offerings on the buy-side. Joining up with 7-Eleven to launch the new snack roll nationally in early September, samples of the product will be available to the wider market at the National Association for Convenience Stores (NACS) Show October 2 through 4 at booth #7664, according to a press release. It joins existing Roltini Singles flavors like mozzarella with Prosciutto, Spicy Salame, and Pepperoni.
Volpi's new Roltini Singles are individually packaged at 1.5 oz, contain 11 grams of protein, and are made without synthetic nitrates and nitrites. Each batch of snacks is packaged into 12 count display boxes ready to merchandise in retailers' fresh coolers.
So, here is to the increasing expansion of easy-to-access meat and cheese with even more flavors and choices! As this category continues to rise, Deli Market News will report on the latest.
