More exciting wins are padding Agour’s portfolio! The twice World Cheese Award Winner recently took to the World Championship Cheese contest, competing against 3,300 other cheeses to take home two Best of Class gold medal awards. Recognized for its Basque sheep’s milk PETIT AGOUR and Sheep’s milk and truffle PETIT AGOUR WITH TRUFFLES, the company secured its highest contest results yet.
In addition, URDIÑA DE BREBIS, a brand-new sheep’s milk blue, and AHUNTZA KETUA, a smoked goat’s milk semi-soft paste cheese, also earned silver medals with almost perfect scores.
In its 35th year, the 2024 World Championship Cheese Contest brought forth 3,300 different cheeses from 400 cheesemakers, 25 countries, and 32 American states. Cheese is classified into 142 different categories, according to a press release, and judges award grades to each cheese tested; only the three highest grades per category are awarded a medal.
With a presence in the United States for over 25 years, Agour continues to bolster its standing in the cheese case.
