If there is one feeling I’m familiar with being a trade news writer, it’s FOMO. And I’ve had major FOMO ever since the results of this year’s American Cheese Society contest started rolling through my inbox. With 1,742 entries representing 257 companies, I know that BelGioioso stood out loud and proud, because it was awarded a total of seven prestigious medals.
“The annual contest is a great touch point for our Cheesemakers to hear quality feedback from expert judges,” said Gaetano Auricchio, Executive Vice President. “It’s also an industry celebration where Cheesemakers come together to learn from each other in a truly collaborative way. Like many of the smaller Cheesemakers who attend, we started making just one cheese, Sharp Provolone. Forty years later, we are fortunate to be producing over 27 different cheeses and celebrating with seven awards.”
According to a press release, BelGioioso was recognized for the following cheeses:
