Oh, the sweet sound of C-suite changes. It warms every trade news writer’s heart to learn about executive shakeups, but it’s particularly heartwarming when it just so happens to occur within an award-winning company such as Carry Valley Cheese. Recently, the cheesemaker named Jim Natzke as its new Chief Executive Officer. Sid Cook, Owner and Master Cheesemaker, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.
“I am privileged and energized to be selected to lead Carr Valley Cheese,” commented Natzke. “This organization has long had a formidable reputation as a market leader for innovation and award-winning quality. I will work to continue that tradition, and to leverage the significant talent and passion of the Carr Valley team to give customers our best in terms of products and service. There is no doubt this is a challenging time for our farmers, our team, and our customers. Carr Valley is already well-positioned for the current challenges, and we will be working hard right away to do everything we can to support the stakeholders in Carr Valley during the pandemic and recovery.”
In his new role, Natzke and the senior leadership team will focus on continued growth, quality assurance, and national brand recognition.
Natzke brings over 20 years of experience in the dairy business, having most recently spent time as a consultant specializing in packaging and quality control systems. Prior to that, Natzke worked for a variety of top companies such as Alpine Slicing, Maple Leaf Cheese, Emmi Roth, and Roth Kase USA, where he learned about production, quality control, and supply chain experience. Natzke earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Edgewood College.
“I’ve known Jim for a long time, and his experience as a proven executive in the cheese arena is widely recognized,” stated Sid Cook in a press release. “It is a very exciting opportunity for him to join us in accelerating our growth as well as optimizing operations. I’m confident Carr Valley will be taken to a new level with Jim at the helm.”
Congratulations to Jim on this new position!
