Costco Reveals 2.6B-Dollar Boost in September Sales Results

Costco Wholesale Corporation is flying high, with a new shipping strategy in its back pocket creating increased product availability and lower costs, and its September Sales Results showing continued gains. The retailer recently released the results, revealing a $2.6 billion rise in net sales from last year for the five-week period ending October 3, 2021, along with other sales growth across the company.

Overall, Costco saw a 15.8 percent increase in net sales from $16.84 billion last year to $19.5 billion this September, according to a press release.

In its recently released September Sales Results, Costco revealed a $2.6 billion boost in net sales during the five weeks ending October 3, 2021, from the same period last year

Comparable sales for the company during the five-week period were:

  • U.S. - 14.6 percent
  • Canada - 14.9 percent
  • Total Company - 14.3 percent
  • E-commerce - 10.6 percent

Costco currently operates 817 warehouses, including 565 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 105 in Canada, 39 in Mexico, 30 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 16 in Korea, 14 in Taiwan, 13 in Australia, three in Spain, and one each in Iceland, France, and China. The retailer also operates e-commerce sites in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Australia.
