Innovation in the food sector is moving at breakneck speed, and in order to see mounting success, distributors and retailers have needed to stay on the cutting edge. To remain on top of developing technology and solutions, Dot Foods has announced a new partnership with Plug and Play at an event at the platform’s headquarters.
“For over 60 years, Dot Foods has been at the forefront of innovation in food distribution,” says Joe Tracy, Chief Executive Officer of Dot Foods. “This partnership continues that legacy in an industry that is experiencing unprecedented change. We are excited to work with those on the leading edge of innovation to elevate Dot’s capabilities and find new ways to bring success and shared growth to our business partners.”
In teaming up with Plug and Play, Dot will gain access to the platform’s Corporate Innovation Network, joining an open exchange with thought leaders from more than 500 corporations and tens of thousands of startups around the globe.
Through the service, the distributor will be able to search the work that the startups are doing to find solutions that fit the company’s needs, according to a press release. Additionally, through the Corporate Innovation Network, Dot will be able to bring problems to the table and will be matched with startups whose work aligns.
"We are very excited to have Dot Foods on board as our newest partner," explained Mike Zayonc, Founder of Plug and Play Supply Chain & Logistics. "Having partners like Dot Foods, ExxonMobil, L'Oréal, DHL, Prologis, Ericsson, Wal-Mart, Tyson, and BASF working together to collaborate with the most advanced technologies is a perfect venture to digitally transform the global supply chain and logistics market."
Together, Dot Foods and Plug and Play will work with and make investments in startups to test their solutions in real world situations.
