Smoky, spicy, and unexpected—that’s how specialty food importer Forever Cheese describes its newest offering: the Mitica® Piri Piri Cocktail snack mix.
“Using piri piri to season our newest Mitica snack mix was a natural choice,” says Marketing Manager Chelsea Bryant. “We have been importing cheeses and accompaniments from Portugal for many years and have fallen in love with the culinary traditions there. Piri piri is ubiquitous, and every restaurant has their own version of hot sauce made with the pepper. This snack mix is a tribute to that flavor, which we think will have universal appeal.”
Developed by Forever Cheese alongside its longtime producer partner in Valencia, Spain, Piri Piri Cocktail is the latest addition to the importer’s well-known lineup of Mitica nuts and snack mixes.
The new product features a flavorful blend of peanuts, cashews, rice crisps, fava beans, and crunchy fried corn coated with a piri piri seasoning mix—a hot pepper commonly found in Portuguese and southern African cuisine.
The offering can be enjoyed alone as a savory snack, alongside a sandwich as a delicious side, or used to add color, crunch, and spice to a charcuterie board.
As a press release shared, Mitica Piri Piri Cocktail is available in 3.53 oz mini tubs, 750 g small tubs, and bulk 3.5 kg formats and is sold in grocery and specialty stores throughout the United States.
