The brand’s parent company, General Mills, recently announced a licensing agreement with Calavo Growers, making the avocado grower the exclusive manufacturer of Old El Paso refrigerated fresh guacamole and salsas in the United States.
“Old El Paso is the number one Mexican brand in the U.S. with about a third of all households enjoying Old El Paso products on a regular basis,” said Helen Kurtz, Senior Vice President/General Manager of Calavo Prepared. “Calavo is thrilled for the opportunity to be the exclusive manufacturer of this iconic brand’s refrigerated, fresh guacamole and salsas in the U.S.”
This new line of products launched in fall 2022 and features proprietary recipes, a release explained. Old El Paso refrigerated guacamole blends come in Mild and Medium flavors and are produced with the highest quality Hass avocados, tomatoes, onions, garlic, jalapeño, sea salt, lime juice, and cilantro.
The brand’s cantina-style fresh salsas are made from premium quality tomatoes, onions, peppers, and garlic, which are all blended into a perfectly balanced recipe. They are full of real flavors, gluten-free, and have extended shelf-life.
Both guacamole and salsas are now available to grocery, mass, and convenience channels nationwide.
